A leading healthcare trust in Orpington is seeking a professional to provide first-class clinical service and effective leadership in a neuro-rehabilitation unit. You will work in partnership with clinical and medical colleagues to support patients' rehabilitation, while contributing to teaching and research initiatives with a renowned university. Ontario Ward - 2b Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit was opened in Orpington Hospital in July 2016. The key aim of Ontario 2b is to offer specialist active rehabilitation to patients with neurological needs, to assist them in achieving physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing, facilitating family, vocational and community engagement. The ward currently has 20 inpatient 2b beds. The Frank Cooksey Rehabilitation Unit provides specialist neurological rehabilitation in 15 beds. In this unit complex physical and cognitive rehabilitation is provided to patients who suffered a stroke, traumatic brain injury, polyneuropathy, myopathy, spinal cord injury, or relapse of progressive neurological disease. The post will be based at Orpington, and this will be reviewed within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post. All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the Trusts sites as required by the service. As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.
