About the Role

The Junior Chef de Partie supports the preparation, cooking and presentation of high‑quality dishes within an assigned kitchen section, contributing to the smooth delivery of food service across large‑scale arena events and conference functions.

Working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team, this role assists with mise en place, maintains strict food safety and hygiene standards, and helps execute menus that meet diverse event requirements—from banquets and conferences to high‑volume arena service.

The Junior Chef de Partie plays a key part in ensuring consistent quality, efficiency and guest satisfaction while developing skills and experience to progress within the culinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce consistently high‑standard dishes for a range of events, including banquets, buffets, plated meals, and VIP functions.
  • Adapt to varying event sizes and formats, ensuring timely food production and service during high‑pressure situations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth kitchen flow, effective communication and service coordination.
  • Follow and enforce food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations, always maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth service, menu execution and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Support the delivery of planned menus and contribute creative input when required to enhance event catering offerings.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Chef in a high‑volume, fast‑paced kitchen environment (essential).
  • Experience working in event catering, banqueting or large‑scale hospitality (essential).
  • Experience in various service styles (e.g., plated meals, buffets, canapés, live cooking stations) (desirable).
  • Strong culinary skills with the ability to produce high‑quality food under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow event menus and adapt to specific dietary requirements or last‑minute changes.
  • Good knowledge of portion control, stock rotation and kitchen efficiency.
  • Competent in maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Effective communication and ability to work well within a team.
