Job summary

A leading health service provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Junior Assistant Sleep Physiologist to join their dynamic team. The role involves downloading sleep study tests, ensuring equipment functionality, and performing administrative tasks. Training will be provided to help you develop your skills within sleep physiology. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills, and ideally possess GCSEs in relevant subjects. Junior Assistant Sleep Physiologist

The closing date is 22 December 2025

The East Kent Hospitals Foundation Trust performs sleep study tests on various sites. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person to join our dynamic sleep physiology team.

The post will require you to download basic sleep study tests along with cleaning and initialization of the equipment prior to the test being performed. Training will be given as part of your professional development within the role.

The role is permanent but we would consider part time for the right applicants.

Main duties of the job
  • Download sleep studies and check for good quality signals, and action poor quality sleep studies as appropriate
  • Meet and greet patients, family members and carers, and set up and demonstrate how to put on the sleep study equipment
  • Ensure sleep study equipment is in good working order; identify and report damage, or those that need repair, to EME
  • Complete administration tasks associated with sleep studies, e.g. phoning patients, updating written documentation, scanning paperwork to EDN/EPR, accurately updating spreadsheets and databases
  • Maintain stock levels for sleep studies
  • Support the sleep physiology team with downloading SD cards and returning these to patients, and sending out, or arranging collection of, masks and consumables
  • Support the sleep physiology team with returned CPAP devices, e.g. cleaning, downloading and deleting data, phoning patients and completing documentation
  • Support the sleep service with administration tasks e.g. supporting the CPAP email and telephone helpline, CPAP consumables stock management
  • Be available to work over all sites
  • Complete any other tasks as deemed appropriate related to the sleep physiology service.
