The successful candidate will have a solid track record of delivering school improvement, expertise across all Key Stages and experience of strategies to improve teaching and learning. Working closely with the Trust, you will set the strategic direction of the school, develop plans for improvements and developments, and have the skills to engage with staff, pupils, Governors and the wider school community.
Leadership and strategic direction — lead and drive school improvement in collaboration with the Trust; develop and implement plans for improvements and developments; engage with staff, pupils, Governors and the wider school community.
Teaching and learning excellence — foster outstanding teaching practice, monitor performance, and support the development of high-quality learning experiences for all key stages.
People and partnerships — build and motivate a high-performing team; establish and nurture partnerships to benefit the school and its learners.
Governance and accountability — work with Governors, maintain high standards of governance, health and safety, and ensure sustainable financial position and future growth within the Trust.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a solid track record of school leadership and improvement, expertise across all Key Stages, and the ability to deliver strategies to improve teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will be able to provide leadership, guidance and direction, assess and demonstrate outstanding teaching practice, and build a collaborative, high-performing team. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with staff, pupils, Governors, and the wider school community are essential.

The Trust was founded in 2014, in John Taylor High School — an outstanding secondary school in Barton-Under-Needwood, and the first in Staffordshire to convert to become an Academy. We have grown steadily and currently serve 13 infant/primary schools and 6 secondary schools. In addition, the Staffordshire Research School and John Taylor Teaching School Hub are key parts of our Trust, having gained a reputation for delivering outstanding professional development and support for teachers across a wide-ranging offer.
