Responsibilities

  • Create an inclusive learning environment promoting safety and respect.
  • Report safeguarding concerns and support learner wellbeing.
  • Manage learner behavior positively and de-escalate situations.
  • Supervise learners during activities, supporting qualification progress.
  • Mentor learners and review targets regularly.
  • Assist with curriculum delivery and develop learning resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and attendance.
  • Carry out administrative tasks for smooth programme delivery.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all work.

Overview

Do you enjoy supporting young people to achieve their goals and build brighter futures? If you're passionate about making a difference, creating inclusive learning environments, and helping learners overcome barriers, this could be the role for you. We are looking for a passionate Youth Learning Mentor to join our team. In this role, you will, ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners. While not essential, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Creating an inclusive learning environment that promotes safety, respect, and active participation.
  • Reporting safeguarding concerns in line with ACT policy and supporting learner wellbeing.
  • Managing behaviour positively and using effective strategies to de-escalate situations.
  • Supervising learners during activities, breaks, and lunch, supporting them to stay on track with their qualifications.
  • Mentoring learners, setting and reviewing targets, and celebrating progress.
  • Assisting JGW+ Tutors with curriculum delivery and developing engaging learning resources.
  • Maintaining accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and performance.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks to ensure smooth programme delivery.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability in all aspects of your work.
Qualifications
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh.
