Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Java Developer with SQL and Git skills to join their Fixed Income team. The role involves designing and implementing applications, working closely with trading teams to ensure optimal performance, and facilitating the migration to a scalable cloud-based architecture. Ideal candidates will have considerable software development experience and a strong understanding of Fixed Income Products. This hybrid position allows for three days of office work per week.

Qualifications

Job Description

We are seeking talented Senior Hands on Java Developers to join our core Fixed Income team in lead and support roles. To help design, develop and implement our applications to support front office and operations groups. Work cross‑functionally with various stakeholders, trading teams and technology departments to ensure our applications are running at optimal performance. You will take a hands‑on approach to understanding business workflows and the products we work with. You will help re‑engineer and modernise our platform and drive our migration to a scalable micro‑service, cloud‑based architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
• 10 years of experience in software development required
• 5 years of experience working with Fixed Income Products and Associated Electronic Workflows
• Strong proficiency with Java, SQL and Git
• Very good understanding of industry standard trading protocols like FIX and FpML
• Proficiency with data standards and data modelling
• Proficiency with text‑based formats such as XML and JSON
• Strong proficiency with messaging frameworks such as MQ and Kafka
• Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot and Spring Integration
• Familiarity with testing patterns and DevOps
• Familiarity with cloud containerisation
• Comfortable in Windows and Linux environments
