Japanese speaking Senior Infrastructure Engineer

A Japanese IT company is currently recruiting a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work in their London office.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing third line technical escalation for operational incidents and being involved in network projects as a senior server engineer.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Linux and Windows server management, network troubleshooting, and possess good documentation and communication skills.

Understanding of Japanese culture and business level of Japanese skills is essential.

Visa support may be considered depending on experience.

• TYPE: 1 year Fixed-term contract (There is a possibility to be extended)
• WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
• SALARY: £45,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience and skills)

Senior Infrastructure Engineer Main Responsibilities

• Operation, maintenance and troubleshoot Linux/Windows server, NW switch and Firewall
• User administrative work (account management, group management, etc.)
• Witnessing installation servers, NW devices by HW vendor at a datacentre near London
• Supporting users, troubleshooting issues and contacting hardware/software vendor
• Document operational procedures, manual creation, user announcement and internal applications
• Project works along with providing implementation and testing, and creating the related resources such as script, document, parameter sheet and formulation of test plan

Senior Infrastructure Engineer Ideal Candidate

• Experience of user support at IT helpdesk, Linux (RedHat) / Windows server management / operation and network troubleshooting of WAN as well as LAN
• Linux Server (RedHat) management experience is necessary. (Account, Group management, Performance, Process management)
• Windows server management experience is an advantage
• IA Server Hardware troubleshooting skills are advantage
• NetApp, VMware management experiences are advantage
• Understanding of general networking technologies and protocols
• Good documentation skills
• Shell scripts are advantage
• Skill for operation automation to enhance efficiency is advantage
• Member management skills are an advantage
• Business level fluency in both English and Japanese
