IT Support Technician - Field Based Covering Sussex, Surrey, Essex & Kent GBP26,000 - GBP32,000 per annum + benefits

Established in 2002, our client is a trusted Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering IT support and installation services to schools, colleges, and businesses across the Southeast.

They're now looking for a skilled and motivated Field-Based IT Support Technician to join their growing team and provide first-class support to clients.

The IT Support Technician Role:

This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll work directly with clients across Sussex, Surrey, Essex, and Kent. From troubleshooting issues to configuring networks and installing solutions, no two days will be the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing on-site and remote IT support for desktops, laptops, servers, and networks
  • Supporting and managing VMware/Hyper-V environments and Windows Server systems
  • Managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
  • Conducting hardware and software installations, updates, and backups
  • Troubleshooting complex IT issues with professionalism and efficiency
  • Supporting AV equipment and device imaging where required

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-3 years' IT support experience (preferably in an education environment)
  • Strong working knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, Windows Server, and networking
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • A professional, client-focused attitude with the ability to work independently

Bonus skills (not essential but desirable):

  • Experience with Unifi, Aruba, or Meraki wireless solutions
  • MDM tools (Meraki, Jamf, Lightspeed, Apple Configurator)
  • Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune administration
  • AV installation and 3CX administration
