IT Stock Controller
The Role

Barhale are seeking a Stock Controller to work within the IT team to keep track of over 3000 IT assets and ensure stock is always available to meet end user requests. This is a hands‑on role where you will not only manage stock levels but also be responsible for ensuring assets are tested, repaired if required, set up and ready for dispatch to end users.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Monitoring and Control
  • Track inbound and outbound IT assets, ensuring all movements and transactions are accurately recorded in the asset database.
  • Oversee stock levels to prevent overstocking and stock shortages
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts
  • Ensure the proper storage and organisation of IT assets to prevent damage, loss, or spoilage, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Develop, implement, and improve stock control procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and minimise loss or waste.
  • Arrange stock disposals where required.
Procurement
  • Prepare purchase orders and order new hardware, software licences, or related supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate deliveries, verifying all incoming goods against orders and inspecting for quality or damage.
  • Liaise and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost‑effective purchases.
Logistics
  • Prepare and label items for dispatch ensuring adequate packaging.
  • Move items to / from dispatch and collection areas
  • Track packages and address any delays to ensure successful delivery to final destination.
  • Contact end users for feedback on service
  • Track returns and inspect returned kit for damages
Setup and Testing
  • Checking assets are in full working order before dispatch.
  • Testing all equipment before returning assets to stock.
  • Raising faults with manufacturers and arranging repair / replacement of equipment.
About you
Esssential
  • Proven work experience as a stock controller, inventory manager or similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel
  • Negotiation skills to be interact with vendors
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to identify, investigate and correct discrepancies with inventory, dispatch and procurement.
