Job summary

A leading IT support company in the United Kingdom is seeking an IT Service Desk Support to provide first-line support to users. Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware and software issues, assisting with device setup, and maintaining IT security. Ideal candidates will have a good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365, with a preference for those having previous IT support experience. Qualifications

Job description

Provide first-line IT Service Desk support to internal users, addressing incidents and requests by phone, email, service desk, remote tools, and in person.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install and update software applications.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand their IT requirements and relaying relevant information to the wider IT team.
  • Provide support for IT projects and system upgrades as needed.
  • Supporting IT admin tasks, including procurement and general administration.
  • Adhere to and promote the organisation's IT policies.
  • Maintain the security of the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Good knowledge and experience of Windows 10 & 11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Some previous IT support role experience (preferable).
  • Good knowledge of PC and Laptop hardware.
  • Some knowledge of Android and iOS on both phones and tablets.
  • Ability to install, support and maintain hardware and software.
  • Ability to provide telephone support to remote users of all levels.
  • Good communication and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to be dynamic, self‑motivated, and work on own using own initiative is essential.
  • Well‑developed all‑round IT and people skills.
  • Keen to learn and develop within the role.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferable.

Location

Working on site in our Helsby office in Cheshire 5 days a week 09:00 - 17:30. You must live within a commutable distance to the office.
