In this role you will be expected to have the leadership and project management skills required to lead medium to large scale infrastructure applications and security projects consisting of IT and functional business area resources located around the world. Ability to direct, inspire and guide teams to successful execution. You will also be expected to understand and apply advanced processes and methods used with an IT organisation to support the project management methodology lifecycle.

As the IT Project Manager your role is to plan, execute and finalise projects according to strict deadlines and budgets in a matrix environment. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third‑party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. You will also define the project’s tasks and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Please note this is an 18 month FTC.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Develop full‑scale project plans, timelines and associated communications documents to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Direct and manage project development from initiating to closing through management of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communications, risks, changes and issues.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise in managing infrastructure, network security and firewall projects.
  • Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
  • Initiate and oversee all aspects of vendor management including the development of the Statement of Work and all aspects of communications and delivery.
  • Help facilitate Portfolio Management process working with management and business to understand project priority, resourcing and planning.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and encourage project team members and contractors and influence them to take proactive action and accountability for their assigned work.
What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum 5 years experience within a project management focused role.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project and / or Project Online.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of managing relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are customer‑orientated.
  • APMP Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or Prince 2 Practitioner preferred.
  • Familiarity with PMIs Project Management Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle and Agile / Scrum Framework preferred.
