IT Policy Writer (6 Month Contract)

An experienced IT Policy writer is needed for a 6 month contract with a financial markets company in the city.

Thorough understanding of IT operations and processes is required, with relevant experience in a financially regulated firm.

Ability to explain technical concepts to people with a non-technical background to aid understanding and decision making.

Self‑directed and structured approach to work.

The role is hybrid, split 3 days in‑office and 2 days at home.

Duties
  • Review and familiarize with existing Group and Firm IT Policies.
  • Perform a gap analysis to identify changes required to existing documentation.
  • Perform a gap analysis across current policy documentation, group standards, and best practice to align with recognised standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO2700).
  • Propose a new policy framework.
  • Ensure new policies comply with financial regulator expectations (SEC, FCA, FINMA).
  • Implement agreed policies in line with the agreed framework.
  • Transfer or create and update policies in collaboration with the S&P Information Security Officer, IT Department, and Senior Management.
