Job description
Overview

We’re recruiting for an Investment Oversight Consultant within the Investment Oversight Team. You will assist the team in ensuring we deliver great outcomes for our clients by ensuring non-standard investment administration and control processes are carried out to a high standard and by providing technical support to customers, advisers, business partners and the wider Nucleus business. You’ll have an eye for detail and enthusiasm for finding ways to do things better, highlighting where a control could be improved and aiding the design and implementation of this to ensure we best service the needs of our clients. You’ll need to understand the consequences of all actions and manage these in line with our risk framework.

You Will Spend Your Time
  • Administering non-standard investments and gold bullion accounts.
  • Reviewing Permitted Investment requests.
  • Overseeing decisions on illiquid assets.
  • Carrying out key investment oversight control processes.
  • Managing complex investment queries and sharing your knowledge to support customers, advisers, business partners and the wider Nucleus business.
  • Identifying, highlighting and managing risks across Nucleus’s off-platform asset book.
  • Supporting projects to improve processes and deliver great customer outcomes.

You will have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with strong experience working in both customer facing and investment administration roles, preferably in a bespoke SIPP or platform environment. Experience of administering non-standard investments, such as private equity funds, hedge funds and unquoted shares, is preferable.

A Bit About You

Your friends would probably describe you as the "super-organised" one, ridiculously well planned and someone who takes time to really understand people and their needs. You’re the type of person who asks great questions to understand expectations but can react like lightening to solve problems as they occur.

You love mentoring others and get a real kick out of encouraging the right behaviours, supporting our core values and personally demonstrating these. You’ll set the bar high on performance even when stretching for the team, creating a team environment where high performance is the norm.

Role

We’ve always placed more importance on cultural contribution above technical ability, but in this role we’d really like you to have/be:

  • Previous experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience of coaching others
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Able to prioritise the high impact work, but never neglect the details
  • Excellent communication skills – comfortable representing our culture and values with a speedy, friendly style
  • Able to anticipate the needs of those you work with, juggling conflicting priorities
  • The ability to think laterally and come up with new solutions to old problems
