Job description

Arena is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce.

Through originations and acquisitions of asset-oriented investments across a wide array of commercial and consumer asset types (including but not limited to private direct corporate and commercial real estate bridge lending), the investment team specializes in off-the-run, stressed, distressed, illiquid and esoteric special situation transactions.

Arena’s investment team develops and designs investment structures to meet the unique needs of each opportunity.

Arena is looking to recruit talented recent university graduates to its newly established two-year Analyst Program. Our Analyst Program is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing alternative credit investment firm, directly out of undergrad, without the typical requirement of 1-2 years of investment banking experience. Analysts will play a critical role in Arena’s effort to deploy capital across its fundamentals based investment strategy across corporate private credit, real estate, structured product, natural resource, and liquid market verticals. Through on-the-job experience and regular training sessions, analysts will be exposed to various corporate finance and security analysis concepts including credit analysis, financial modeling, business model and capital structure, and fixed income and equity securities, among others. In addition to finance a security analysis, analysts will also learn important application of law with respect to buy-side investing as well as establishing critical corporate soft skills for successful careers in the financial industry.

Each analyst will serve as a generalist assisting members of the investment team with industry and company due diligence, financing modeling, investment memorandum preparation, and other ad-hoc projects. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated interest in finance and investing; thrive in an intense, team-oriented environment; and be highly organized, self-motivated, and resourceful.

The investment teams that an analyst as part of the Analyst Program will be able choose and rotate through will include the following.

  • Corporate Securities
  • European Private Illiquid
Responsibilities

  • Research new deal opportunities.
  • Perform relative value analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda.
  • Participate in the transaction closing process.
  • Assume transaction post-closing responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with internal functions including Treasury and Operations.
Requirements

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Graduating in 2026 with Bachelor’s degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting, engineering, science or mathematics). Other majors that are ideal include those that require the ability to communicate ideas well either through presentations or writing (e.g. English, philosophy)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) and writing skills.
  • Experience with financial modeling and transaction structuring / closing.
  • Thorough understanding of basic financial and accounting concepts.
  • The highest level of personal integrity, discipline and ethical standards.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization.
