Job Introduction

Investment Analyst - Private Market Funds

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical investment professional to join our team at West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) as an Investment Analyst for private market funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing investment analysis and due diligence on a range of private equity and credit funds, including global infrastructure, buyout, and growth equity.

You will work closely with the team\'s senior investment professionals, contributing analysis and commentary to support new investment decisions and portfolio liquidity solutions. This work will broaden, diversify, and strengthen as the Fund transitions to become an FCA-regulated Pool. The majority of the portfolio\'s investments are currently held via direct funds and co-investments.

As part of wider total portfolio management, you would be expected to provide subject-matter expertise, thematic input and strategic engagement for the CIO and the wider WYPF investment team. You will serve as a trusted resource and exercise sound judgement when evaluating investment and divestment opportunities and their associated contract terms. An important aspect of the role is the ability to analyse and distil large quantities of data and provide summary conclusions in layman\'s terms.

Candidates will ideally be CFA or CAIA part-qualified (or equivalent) and have investment experience with a knowledge and understanding of unlisted markets. In addition, candidates must have:

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues in layman\'s terms.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • A good working knowledge of fund documentation and associated best practice desirable.
  • A strong work ethic, be a team player and demonstrate a strong record of achievement.

Candidates must be independent, resourceful, methodical with good problem-solving skills, and willing to travel to offsite meetings. You must be able to meet deadlines and support others when required. You will have strong interpersonal and report writing skills and be commercially minded.

This is a unique opportunity to influence key decision-making for a high-profile Private Markets portfolio. If you think you have what it takes to help drive WYPF to even greater success, we want to hear from you.

This post is subject to a basic check with the disclosure and barring service.
