Job description for Inventory Manager
Come and join us as an Inventory Manager at RAF Waddington.
This role is based within the Situational Awareness Command and Control (SACC) portfolio. You will be working alongside military partners daily to assist with equipment support for UK national air and maritime defence. A key part of your role will be data entry across various logistic information and financial systems to support with command and control equipment.
You will be based in a Warehouse and Stores environment, providing warehouse manual accounting and contributing to the management of returns and reports to senior supply chain manager and team leader. You will also support with managing the quarterly returns of government furnished assets from Contractors. There is also potential for development within the wider organisation.
We champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance and business need. Whilst this role is based at RAF Waddington, the portfolio is situated across the UK so there will be national travel involved to other sites as well as training and away days. Initially you would be expected to be on site full-time to familiarise yourself with the site, the team and your role, and then as required for business needs (this is expected to be approximately 40-60% of your working week).
In addition to the essential skills, technical competence and behaviours detailed in the advert below, it would be beneficial for you to have experience in Logistic Information Systems, preferably MOD LogIS including MJDI, with experience of managing an AinU account. Additionally, having a Level 5 qualification and a Supply Chain Membership with a professional body (e.g. CILT/CIPS) would be desirable for the role, but not essential.
