Interventional Radiology Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Interventional Radiology nursing team at Colchester General Hospital.

The Interventional Radiology team are a small and friendly multidisciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists.

Our core working hours are Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 18:00. We do provide 24/7 on call service for emergency patients which you will be included on once trained which is on a 1 in 5 rota subject to be flexible upon service need. When you are on-call you will need to be able to reach the hospital within 45 minutes of being called.

For this role you will be a nurse who has interest in developing the skills for this highly specialised area, including scrub, conscious sedation and participating in a cross site on call service.

Applications are welcome from staff with prior relevant experience; however this is not essential as full training will be given on the job. This is an opportunity to develop specialist skills and work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Informal visits are encouraged.

This post is full time, 37.5 hours per week, however we would accept a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of care. To be actively engaged in the delivery of excellent patient care in the Radiology setting.

As part of the role you will act as a team leader in the absence of a senior member of staff and assist the Radiology staff to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice.

You will be working in a variety of clinical areas including the vascular theatre, with all members of the multidisciplinary team. You will have good communication and organisational abilities alongside an excellent clinical standards.
