Overview

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Norfolk. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. Targeted Provision aims to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, MLD, and SLD, by providing trauma-informed, holistic tutoring and mentoring.

The role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, and trauma-informed approach to improve engagement and educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
  • Students are referred by local authorities and schools and may require educational and social-emotional support
  • Deliver support through flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Responsibilities
  • Plan each teaching / tutoring / mentoring session
  • Deliver holistic, engaging sessions aligned to individual needs and progress
  • Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Requirements
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (help with obtaining this at cost if needed)
  • Two professional references
  • Based in the UK with right to work, including for remote/online work

It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.

Employment status
  • Engagement as a Worker for short-term assignments as they arise
  • Contract for service with PAYE payment
  • No fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
  • Insurance covers work you do for us
  • Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
