Qualifications

  • HNC/Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a Building Services consultancy is required.
  • Working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET is essential.

Client Overview

Our client is a leading MEP design consultancy specialised in delivering cutting edge design solutions across challenging, business-critical building environments.

They are currently looking for an intermediate electrical design engineer to join their expanding London team. The right candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement compliance strategies for our client's portfolio, while contributing to the development of the next generation of MEP talent and helping to deliver high impact healthcare projects.

Role Overview

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical systems, including design calculations, specifications & schedules and technical drawings
  • Contributing to the preparation and presentation of technical evidence, calculations, and design support for healthcare specific building services systems.
  • Initial technical review of electrical system designs and specifications, completed by junior team members
  • Assist in undertaking site surveys.
  • Support senior team members on coordination with external design teams; architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, etc
  • Work closely with internal disciplines including mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainability.
  • Mentor and guide junior / apprentice engineers within the design teams.
Requirements
  • HNC / Degree qualification in Electrical / Building Services Engineering or proven experience working within Electrical Building Services.
  • Previous experience within a Building Services consultancy.
  • CEng or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software like AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble, Etap, Dialux, Excel, MS Project, etc.
  • Proven experience of designing Electrical Services in line with appropriate standards, guidance and client’s requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to confidently contribute towards design team meetings as well as build and sustain strong relationships with senior team.
  • The ability to work to and meet deadlines, communicate issues effectively and efficiently to ensure project success.
