Job Description

12-month temporary contract for a Project Quantity Surveyor working within the public sector.

Your new company
A red-brick university with a great reputation and excellent team culture. You will be working as part of the minor works team focusing on delivering best value across refurbishment, new build, and maintenance schemes.
Your new role
In this role, you will take responsibility for preparing detailed cost estimates and forecasting cash flows aligned with project timelines. You will manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle, monitor costs, and ensure financial control is maintained. You will lead procurement strategies tailored to each project’s needs and oversee the development of tender documents and contracts in line with internal frameworks and financial regulations.You will also evaluate bids and proposals, produce tender recommendation reports, and ensure all submissions are properly recorded.
What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • MRICS membership
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project quantity surveying
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act 2024
  • Proficiency in tools like Causeway, CostX, Bluebeam, MS Project, NBS Create, and BCIS
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively
