Job summary

A leading packaging manufacturer in the United Kingdom is looking for a Cost & Management Accountant to join their team for a contract lasting 3 to 6 months. The successful candidate will manage full monthly accounts, scrutinize budgets, and report on WIP and standard costing while collaborating closely with the Production Manager. An ideal fit will have a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification and advanced Excel skills, ready to start on short notice. Qualifications

• Qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA with experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Must have advanced Excel skills for financial modelling.
• Experience in managing full monthly management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare full monthly management accounts and commentary.
• Monitor budgets and variances closely.
• Conduct WIP and standard costing in coordination with the Production Manager.
• Analyses data to improve procedures and mitigate risks.
• Review and enhance month-end processes.

Job description

Amazing opportunity to join our client in the packaging manufacturing sector at a time of growth and investment from the global corporate parent company. Working closely with the Head of Finance you will take control of the full management and cost accounting function. This is a 3 to 6 month contract

Responsibility of the Cost & Management Accountant Role:

• Full monthly management accounts and commentary in line with Group processes
• Closely monitor budgets and any variances
• WIP and standard costing, liaising with Production Manager
• Analyse large data sets to mitigate the risks and develop more robust procedures
• Review and improve month end processes
• Streamline transactional accounting
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and planning ahead

Requirements of the Cost & Management Accountant Role:

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
• Experience gained with a manufacturing group
• Advanced Excel skills
• Standard costing and WIP reporting
• Available at short notice to start w/c 19th January
