Overview

We're recruiting an experienced and change-driven Interim Compliance Project Manager to lead key elements of a Housing Improvement Plan. This role focuses on strengthening compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, embedding sustainable improvements in safety and assurance processes, and ensuring residents experience a visibly higher standard of housing services. You will join at a pivotal time, driving transformation in how compliance is managed, governed, and monitored across housing services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of compliance-focused projects within the Housing Improvement Plan, ensuring they deliver measurable improvements and sustainable change.
• Redesign and improve compliance processes, policies, and systems to ensure they are embedded across all housing operations.
• Work collaboratively with service managers, contractors, and colleagues to strengthen accountability and improve performance.
• Develop and deliver project plans, risk registers, and change milestones, managing dependencies and ensuring benefits are realised.
• Drive improvements in data management and reporting, enabling better assurance, decision-making, and regulatory compliance.
• Support cultural and behavioural change, influencing staff at all levels and embedding compliance as a core part of service delivery.
• Provide senior leaders and governance boards with clear updates on progress, risks, and outcomes, ensuring transparency with residents and regulators.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience of leading projects within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong background in change delivery, with the ability to design and implement new processes, policies, and ways of working.
• In-depth knowledge of social housing compliance requirements (e.g. fire, gas, electrical, water hygiene, lifts, asbestos).
• Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in service quality, safety, and compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and change management skills, with the ability to build credibility and drive cultural change.
• Strong project and programme management expertise, including planning, risk management, and benefits realisation.
• Clear and confident communicator, able to distil complex compliance issues into practical actions and accessible updates.
