Job summary

Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available to become an Intelligence Assessor within Counter Terrorism Policing South West (CTPSW).

This role will require you to co-ordinate the collection, receipt and evaluation of information from within the department and external agencies, and to develop information within the intelligence cycle.

Responsibilities
  • To manage the co-ordinated collection and receipt of information in various formats from within the force, other police forces and external agencies, inputting and disseminating data onto suitable databases with regard to notifications of threat and risk.
  • Manage, handle and assess all information and intelligence, including sensitive intelligence, to identify threat and risk levels including determining whether it is developed, disseminated, disposed or stored.
  • To quality assure all intelligence, received or developed, to ensure it meets accepted quality standards including sanitisation, grading and handling, GPMS markings.
  • Provide input for tactical and strategic documents.
  • Attend conferences, seminars and courses with a view to adding value to investigations and regional capacity and capability to meet demands

  • The post holder must be Intelligence Professionalization Programme (IPP) certificated or be willing to complete IPP in the role.
  • Successful candidate will be required to hold MV & SC vetting

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.

As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Work on a bank or public holiday as part of the normal working week will be compensated in line with conditions of service.
