Instrumental Tutor (Drum Kit, Piano and/or Curriculum Music)

Working Pattern: Term time only, 12 hours per week (36 weeks per year)
Salary: £25,195 – £36,967 per annum, pro rata
Location: Lincolnshire (primarily South Kesteven, East Lindsey and Boston)
Closing Date: Sunday 8 February 2026
Interviews: Week commencing 2 March 2026

About the Role
  • Deliver engaging drum kit and piano lessons to pupils of varying ages and abilities, both individually and in groups.
  • Prepare students for performances, exams, and ensemble participation.
  • Work collaboratively with schools and the Music Service team to promote music education.
  • Travel between teaching locations within Lincolnshire (mileage and travel time allowance provided).
  • The ability to offer a second or third instrument would increase the number of hours available.
  • Deliver impactful curriculum music lessons within primary, or special school settings.
About You
  • Proficient in drum kit, piano and/or curriculum performance with a strong understanding of technique and musical styles.
  • Experience in teaching children and young people, ideally in a school or music service setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities.
  • A relevant music qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • A large proportion of the teaching will take place in the districts of South Kesteven, East Lindsey and Boston.
  • The ability to travel is essential for the role of a peripatetic music tutor.
