Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an Instrument/Electrical Technician in Clitheroe for a 12-month contract. The role involves diagnosing and resolving instrumentation faults in a chemical environment. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 and experience in process plants, ideally in the chemical or oil and gas industries. Competitive pay rate of £24 per hour will be offered.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised Instrumentation/Electrical maintenance apprenticeship.
  • High level of general health and safety awareness appropriate to a chemical environment.
  • Familiar with formal permit to work systems.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to plant breakdowns and diagnose faults.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are recorded in the CMMS.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance team leader.

Overview

Instrument/ Electrical technician – Clitheroe

Contract: 12 month

Rate: £24 ph – PAYE

Responsibilities
  • Respond to plant breakdowns as required to diagnose and resolve faults of an instrumentation or electrical nature.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are entered into the CMMS system, with job records completed in a timely manner and updating information as required (e.g., spares holding).
  • Provide support to the Maintenance team leader in delivering an effective maintenance function.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, as per the CMMS schedule, mainly consisting of safety critical instrumentation testing.
  • Contribute towards equipment reliability improvements through failure mode effects analysis and RCA program.
  • Participate in delivering site targets including EHS, Quality and OEE.
Requirements
  • Completed a recognised Instrumentation/Electrical maintenance apprenticeship and attained NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • High level of general health and safety awareness appropriate to a chemical environment.
  • Familiar with formal permit to work systems including lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Experience working on process plants, ideally in the Chemical or oil and gas industry.
  • Experienced in using a computerised maintenance management system, such as SAP PM.
