Engineer (RF) - Nationwide - £Neg (Perm or Contract)

Our client is a system integrator, that offers solutions from conception of an idea right through to delivery, commissioning and maintenance of the system, tailor making a custom-built wireless and Fibre communication solutions to meet specific requirements.

They have a strong reputation as experts in providing a full range of consultancy, design, and installation solutions on RF solutions from VHF-LB - through to the latest 5G MIMO Solutions.

As an RF cable installation engineer, you will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance, and repair of radio frequency (RF) and telecommunications cabling systems and fitting units that contain the wiring systems.

Your duties will include working hands‑on with equipment and cables, preparing and stripping cables, connecting and crimping connectors, and testing for proper functionality on‑site or at a fixed location. This role is crucial for infrastructure such as mobile phone towers, broadcast transmitters, and various networked systems.

Key responsibilities
  • Installation: Installing internal and external cabling for systems like mobile phone networks, wireless networks, television transmitters, or internal networks.
  • Preparation: Using specialized tools to properly strip and prepare the ends of RF cables for connector attachment.
  • Connection: Attaching connectors, such as BNC or N-connectors, by crimping, soldering, or other methods to create a secure and reliable connection.
  • Maintenance and repair: Locating and fixing faults in existing cable lines and equipment.
  • Testing: Testing the installation to ensure it meets performance standards and making necessary adjustments to optimize signal quality.
  • Infrastructure support: Assisting with the erection of structures like steel towers to support overhead lines or installing equipment within large buildings.

You will need to demonstrate 5+ years experience within this industry and have the ability to work within teams. Projects are located throughout the UK so the ability to travel is essential.
