Role Profile
  • Highly successful and innovative Scottish law firm are seeking to hire an Insolvency Litigation Lawyer to join their growing Glasgow office.
  • The successful candidate will work on a wide range of contentious insolvency matters, advising insolvency practitioners, companies, directors, creditors, and other stakeholders in complex and high-value disputes.

Responsibilities
  • Advising on contentious insolvency matters, including liquidations, administrations, and bankruptcies.
  • Acting in litigation relating to wrongful trading, misfeasance, breach of fiduciary duty, and director disqualification.
  • Pursuing and defending claims for preferences, gratuitous alienations, transactions at undervalue, and challenges to antecedent transactions.
  • Acting for insolvency practitioners in asset recovery and enforcement actions.
  • Advising creditors and directors on risk, strategy, and dispute resolution. Managing cases in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session, and other relevant forums. Drafting pleadings, court documents, and legal opinions. Working closely with colleagues across restructuring, banking, and corporate teams. Contributing to business development, client relationships, and thought leadership.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor in Scotland (or dual‑qualified with relevant Scottish litigation experience).
  • Circa 2‑6 years PQE. Strong background in litigation or dispute resolution‑ experience of insolvency litigation would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work to deadlines Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
