  • Knowledge of side cores, lifters, steel selection, polymers, hydraulics, and hot runners.

  • Creating detailed injection mould tool designs.

Injection Mould Tool Designer

Hours: 41.5 per week

Mon-Thu: 08:00-17:00

Fri: 08:00-16:00

Our client, a long-established and highly respected manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Injection Mould Tool Designer to strengthen their in-house toolroom team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled designer who enjoys working on complex, high-precision tooling for customers across the medical, automotive, switchgear, and packaging sectors.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will take ownership of designing injection mould tools ranging from single-impression units to multi-cavity hot runner systems, ensuring high quality and manufacturability throughout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating detailed injection mould tool designs (single to multi-cavity/hot runner)
  • Producing component designs and technical drawings
  • Supporting and leading design reviews
  • Delivering DFM documentation to support manufacturing
  • 3D & 2D CAD design using Creo (Pro Engineer) and/or SolidWorks
  • Managing projects from initial concept through to final release
  • Working directly with customers to define specifications
  • Supporting machining strategy and toolroom processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong background in injection mould design; toolmaking experience is a clear advantage
  • Confident in designing complex, high-precision mould tools
  • Knowledge of side cores, lifters, steel selection, polymers, hydraulics, and hot runners
  • Able to work to tight timescales while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • A clear communicator and a collaborative team player
