Overview
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Design Engineer to join this major organisation based in Leeds. The organisation is undergoing a sizeable transformation, with significant investment going into their IT Strategy and physical infrastructure. To support this growth, they are looking for someone to support the Head of IT in improving, designing and implementing IT strategy & change and to ensure that the new systems, networks and core infrastructure are designed effectively and delivered seamlessly through to the go live environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the SME and Project Delivery for IT Infrastructure across the organisation and provide technical expertise related to infrastructure.
- Design new core infrastructure and systems.
- Act as the final escalation point and product expert for all IT services.
- Ensure that Infrastructure systems, services and processes are compliant with relevant accreditations.
- Take responsibility for new and ongoing IT projects; scope, plan and manage projects using Agile methodology.
- Investigate and recommend technical strategic solutions, keeping existing infrastructure up-to-date and efficient.
- Be comfortable learning new technologies and delivering the new tech with clever and well thought out project structure.
Required Skills / Experience
- Excellent knowledge of networking, server, storage and virtualisation technologies; with the ability to learn new tech.
- Proven hands-on experience of designing, deploying and maintaining Cloud solutions.
- WAN / LAN design and implementation.
- Experience of technical project planning and delivery.
- Previous experience in a similar Infrastructure position.
- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to key stakeholders across the business.
- Enterprise level technical support and/or delivery.

- Salary: £50k to £60k pa; commensurable with experience.
- Work Hours: 37.5
- Region: West Yorkshire
- Location: Leeds city centre (office-based with some home working potential)
- Holiday: 25 days
