IT Support Tech Lead

Rise10 Recruitment are partnering with a well-established and fast-growing fuel and oil distribution company who are now recruiting for an IT Support Tech Lead. This is a key hire, offering you a unique chance to lead the IT support function and drive strategic IT initiatives.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled IT professional ready to take the next step into leadership - combining strategic oversight with hands-on technical delivery. You’ll take ownership of IT infrastructure, desktop support, and internal procedures, ensuring seamless IT operations across all teams. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage IT support for infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, and networking devices.
  • Ensure data security by implementing and maintaining robust security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Lead vulnerability and patch management activities to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in IT systems and applications, with support from managed SOC.
  • Monitor and maintain network reliability by troubleshooting connectivity issues and optimising network performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff, assisting with technical escalations and knowledge sharing.
  • Document IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an accurate knowledge base.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the IT department, creating a culture of continuous improvement and managing a programme of change across all systems and processes.
  • Support the senior management team across the business where IT plays an enabling role to achieve their goals.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity across the organisation.
About You
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in leading IT support functions and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise with Microsoft products, including MS Active Directory, Office 365, and InTune.
  • Strong networking skills, including setup and configuration.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, with a flexible approach to work.
  • A track record of successfully managing and delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in ITIL practices and a strong understanding of IT service management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
