Job Description

Shift Electrician – Industrial Manufacturing Site

Shift Hour: 12 Hours/Day (3 Days on - 3 Days Off; 3 Days on (Night shift) - 3 Days off)

Duration: Permanent (Full Time)

We're looking for a Shift Electrician to join a fast-paced industrial site, providing essential maintenance, repair, and support across a range of electrical systems. This is a hands-on role working on shift, helping to ensure equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment, including work in hazardous areas (DSEAR, ATEX).
  • Ensure all work complies with current Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Work in line with the latest electrical regulations (18th Edition, BS7671).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise plant downtime.
  • Read and produce wiring diagrams as required.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Support minor electrical projects to improve and maintain site systems.
  • Provide electrical assistance to Operations and Maintenance teams as needed.
  • Accept and work under permit-to-work systems in accordance with site safety procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and workshops.

What we’re looking for:

  • Essential:
  • City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 (or above) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and associated hazards.
  • 18th Edition BS7671.
  • Desirable:
  • C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 certification in testing and inspection.
  • CompEx EX01-04 (EX05-06 also desirable).
  • Experience working in industrial or chemical manufacturing environments.
