A large UK financial services organisation is looking for an Indirect Tax Manager to support VAT matters related to their expanding property and real-asset activities. This is a 6-month contract offering a varied mix of advisory input, project involvement, and operational oversight.
You’ll act as a trusted point of contact for VAT queries arising from property developments, acquisitions, disposals, leasing activity and internal restructures. Working closely with finance and commercial teams, you’ll guide them through the practical VAT considerations affecting day-to-day decisions while ensuring the organisation’s obligations are met efficiently and accurately.
Provide practical VAT guidance on new real-estate initiatives, including construction, investment, leasing, and asset life cycle events
Review business proposals and identify VAT risks, opportunities, and impacts before decisions are finalised
Support ongoing VAT reporting by validating property-related data, documentation and tax treatments
Oversee the VAT aspects of property set‑ups such as elections, registrations or changes to organisational structures
Liaise with internal teams to ensure that VAT processes are followed correctly and consistently across the property portfolio
Assist in refining or simplifying VAT procedures to reduce risk and improve efficiency
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across finance, legal, operations and external advisers
Translate technical VAT issues into clear, actionable steps for colleagues who are not tax specialists
Contribute specialist insight to cross‑functional projects involving systems, data or governance improvements
ACA / ACCA / CTA (or equivalent) with a background at manager level or similar
Strong UK VAT knowledge
