Independent Chair (UK) - Confidential Appointment

UK - flexible location (majority remote working - some days onsite required)

A well-established UK organisation is seeking an Independent Chair to lead its Board and guide strategic direction during an exciting period of development and change. This role will suit a confident Board leader accustomed to operating within complex, front facing stakeholder environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and strong governance
  • Support and challenge the Chief Executive and senior leadership
  • Maintain oversight of risk, assurance, financial discipline and Board effectiveness
  • Build constructive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Ideal Experience
  • Previous Chair or Senior Independent Director experience
  • Strong commercial, governance and financial understanding
  • Credibility in external engagement and stakeholder influence
  • Likely background in sectors such as membership organisations, NFP/charity, community-based services, regulated environments, leisure or public service.
