Job Title: Income Tax Planning and Audit Consultant. Location: Richmond, VA.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Performing project-oriented tax research and analysis supporting the Federal/International and State tax groups.
  • Assisting in analyzing, responding to, and negotiating issues related to both federal and state audits.
  • Researching and documenting income tax accounting methods, tax positions, and processes as it relates to the execution of tax planning strategies.
  • Collaborating across the Finance organization to ensure proper execution of tax planning strategies.
  • Providing analysis, risk assessment and recommendations on complex tax issues concerning proposed acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations, and other business transactions, including reviewing legal documents and other descriptions of M & A transactions for tax related matters. Providing results of this analysis through written memoranda and oral presentations.
  • Reviewing and preparing US federal and state income tax returns, schedules, and disclosures for both domestic and international (Form 5471, 5472, 1042, etc.) activity.
  • Representing management in business settings.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Experience working in a large law firm or accounting firm providing tax advice to corporate clients.
  • Any kind of bachelor’s degree would be okay, but I'd look for 5 years of experience without a graduate degree, or 3 years of experience with a Master's in Tax or a law degree.
  • In-house corporate tax experience would be ideal as well, in addition to the education and experience listed above.
