The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with over 6 years of PQE in infrastructure or construction law, preferably with water sector experience. This role offers a hybrid working model and focuses on providing legal support across significant infrastructure projects locally and internationally.

Overview

In-House Legal Counsel - Infrastructure/Construction, Cheshire - 2 days per week office presence, hybrid working

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced infrastructure or construction lawyer to join a growing global leader at the forefront of sustainable engineering and infrastructure solutions.

We are seeking a commercially minded solicitor with strong expertise in infrastructure and construction, ideally with significant experience in the water sector. Applications from those with transport or energy experience will also be considered.

The role

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide pragmatic, solutions-focused legal support across major infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. You will be involved in a broad variety of work, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts (including NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
  • Advising on major framework agreements, joint ventures and large-scale project delivery.
  • Supporting the business on ancillary documentation such as guarantees, bonds and warranties.
  • Acting as a key legal partner to a leading division within the group.
About you
  • Qualified solicitor with 6+ years' PQE.
  • Solid background in infrastructure and/or construction law (in-house or private practice).
  • Experience in the water, transport or energy sectors.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to handle a diverse workload.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
