Job description

If you're someone who enjoys solving technical problems, keeping systems running smoothly, making sure users get the support they need when they need it, and thrive in a fast-paced IT environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We're looking for a reliable and skilled ICT Technician to join our front-facing and dynamic team.

What's the role all about?

This ICT Technician role is a key part of the ICT & Digital service at North East Lincolnshire Council. You'll be part of a 13-person team, working closely with Senior and Advanced Technicians to deliver high-quality operational support. The role is central to maintaining and improving ICT services across the council, aligned with our ICT strategy and commitment to continuous service improvement.

What will your day look like?

Each day in this role brings something new. You'll be the go-to person for delivering outstanding customer service, supporting users with a wide variety of ICT needs. Whether you're diagnosing and resolving issues with software, hardware, networking, or telephony, or collaborating with colleagues to tackle more complex technical challenges, your input will be vital. You'll also play a key role in shaping the future of our ICT services by gathering and analysing data to inform policy and system improvements. While the role is primarily office-based, there will be opportunities for occasional home working, depending on the needs of the service.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with a strong technical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You'll be confident communicating with users at all levels and thrive in a team environment where collaboration and support are key. A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent service is essential, as is the ability to stay focused and flexible in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.

Why join us?

Because this isn't just a job. It's a chance to be part of a diverse team that keeps the council connected, up to date, and able to work effectively. You'll join a supportive, forward-thinking group that values your ideas, skills, and drive to make a difference.
