Apply today to work as a Hygiene Operative for our client, a leading bakery brand specialising in the production and distribution of bread and bakery products across the UK.

Staffline is recruiting Hygiene Operatives in Forest Gate, London.

Rate of pay: £12.21 – £12.97 per hour.

Hours: Full time, approximately 48 hours weekly as per the rota. Working on the following shift patterns: 4 on 4 off – 2 days, 2 nights on rota, then 4 days off. The hours of work are:

• 6am to 6pm
• 6pm to 6am

This role requires the availability of more than 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

As a Hygiene Operative, your job is to help keep the bakery clean, safe, and ready for work. Your main tasks include:

• Cleaning all areas of the bakery, including floors, walls, machines, and work surfaces. Special attention must be given to the Hovis area and the equipment used there.
• Following cleaning instructions carefully. You will be shown how to clean properly and safely.
• Filling out cleaning forms to show what you have cleaned and when. These forms must be completed correctly and on time.
• Using cleaning tools and chemicals safely. You will be trained to use the right products for each job.
• Helping during customer visits and inspections. You may be asked to show your cleaning work or explain what you do.
• Doing some lifting and moving. This includes carrying cleaning equipment, moving bins, or handling other items.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, COSHH training, and Manual Handling training.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in either a hot or cold environment.
• Physically flexible – able to bend, stretch, lift, and move comfortably during cleaning tasks.
• Awareness of the importance of health and safety.
• Flexible with working hours and tasks – able to work different shifts and help in various areas when needed.
