Job summary

A leading international design consultancy in West Midlands is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer/Modeller to join their Urban drainage team. The successful candidate will be involved in delivering projects in the Flood and Utilities sector, working with various clients, and participating in both feasibility and design phases. Ideal candidates will have experience in wastewater modelling and GIS software, along with a strong desire to develop technically. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected team in the UK.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in the water industry.
  • Previous experience in wastewater modelling.
  • A good understanding of the UK water industry.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Urban drainage team.
  • Deliver projects for Clients including Water Companies and Local Authorities.
  • Undertake feasibility and detailed design phases of projects.

Skills

Wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM
GIS software: QGIS, MapInfo or ArcGIS
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Good written and verbal communication
Desire to learn and develop technically
Experience of undertaking DWMPs and/or SOAF
Full UK driving license

Access Talent Group are recruiting for a large international design consultancy, who are looking for a Hydraulic Engineer / Modeller within the Flood and Utilities sector in a West Midlands office.

This Consultancy are looking for an engineer to be part of the Urban drainage team. The successful candidate will join a team of modellers, engineers, GIS specialists and programmers and will play a key role in delivering schemes for a range of Clients including Water Companies, Local Authorities, developers with the potential to get involved with international projects. You will typically undertake a range of projects within the Drainage, Flood risk, clean and wastewater sector. These will consist of Feasibility and detailed design phases of projects of all sizes.

  • Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
  • Experience of InfoWorks 2D / ICM, InfoNet/InfoAsset.
  • Experience of GIS software: QGIS, MapInfo or ArcGIS preferred.
  • A good understanding of UK water industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Desire to learn and develop technically and work towards a professional qualification.
  • Any prior experience of similar work in areas such as water supply, treatment and drainage:
  • 2-4 years’ water industry experience.
  • Experience of undertaking DWMPs and/or SOAF.
  • Experience working with software such as FME, Power Bi, and/or programming tools such as Ruby, Python and Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge of local water client specifications.
  • Experience of working in a partnering environment.
  • Full UK driving license.
