Job summary

A leading global engineering services provider in the UK is seeking a seismic specialist Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze mechanical systems for HVDC applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in seismic analysis, proficiency in CAD and FEA tools, and strong communication skills. This role involves collaboration across teams and offers opportunities for innovation within a dynamic field. Global travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in mechanical engineering is preferred but not essential.
• Experience with seismic analysis and testing for electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with industry seismic standards (IEEE 693).

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and support testing of mechanical systems for HVDC Valve products.
• Perform seismic qualification analyses in accordance with standards.
• Prepare documentation packages for seismic certification.

Skills

Proven experience with seismic analysis and testing

Proficient in CAD software (Creo or similar)

Ability to work quickly and efficiently within an engineering team

Strong oral and written communication skills

Knowledge of EHS compliance

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
