Job description

Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Starting October 2025 until end of academic year

About the Role

A well-regarded secondary school in the Newport area is seeking a passionate and committed Humanities Teacher to join their team from October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching if desired.

You’ll be delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies, helping students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. The school offers a supportive environment with strong leadership, collaborative departments, and access to ongoing professional development.

Whether you\'re a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT/NQT) or bring years of classroom experience, your enthusiasm and subject knowledge will be highly valued.

What We’re Looking for?

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and seeking a part-time opportunity to re-engage with classroom teaching
  • Completing their induction or has Cover Supervisor experience
  • Have proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Can create an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
Requirements

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • At least two professional references covering the past two years
