The Human Resource Officer is a generalist with responsibility for providing human resource management support to the Human Resources Leadership Team and company members in all human resource functions, This position will also support the management of Human Resources platforms and HRIS systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- First degree in Human Resources Management or Development.
- At least three years of experience in Human Resources
- Familiarity with various HR software including Applicant Tracking Systems and or Talent Management Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
SPECIALISED SKILLS, TECHNIQUES/LEARNED DISCIPLINES:
- The incumbent must be proficient in the major aspects of human resource management.
- Familiarity with various Human Resource Management systems and Learning Management Systems – BambooHR & Moodle desired.
- Ability to foster trusting relationships and collaboration across teams.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable of SharePoint.
- Familiarity with performance review methods and techniques.
- Knowledgeable of recruitment practices and interviewing techniques.
- Skilled in the preparation of job descriptions.
- Familiarity with training and development techniques.
- Knowledgeable of employment-related laws and regulations in Jamaica
- Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be service-oriented, flexible, and willing to embrace change.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in managing and executing activities in the recruitment, selection and post-recruitment stages of the process i.e., including job posting, shortlisting, reference checking, interviewing, Pre-Onboarding, Onboarding and OffOnboarding stages of the company member’s employment cycle.
- Support the development and implementation of creative and innovative workplace strategies.
- Maintain updated human resource operating procedures manual for the Jamaica Office.
- Fosters strong professional relationships and manage expectations with customers, vendors, department leaders, and fellow team members.
- Provide advice and assistance to management in writing job descriptions and ensure that accurate, signed job descriptions are on file for all positions.
- Assist supervisors/managers with team members who have performance-related obstacles.
- Assist in developing human resource plans and executing staff welfare/engagement activities.
- Support human resource projects locally and Group-wide.
- Be responsible for benefits administration.
- Prepare independent contractor agreements.
- Prepare employment contracts for non-management personnel.
- Prepare job letters, embassy letters or other similar requests.
- Maintain updated employee records in the prescribed filing system and on HRIS (BambooHR) and other BambooHR tasks as assigned.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and model our corporate values.
- Assist with driving organizational change initiatives.
- Assist with the administration of HR operating systems.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB:
- Hybrid or normal office environment, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime may be required from time to time though the position is exempt from overtime pay.
