The ideal candidate will take charge of strategic planning, ensuring compliance and high service levels, while leading a team of Operations Managers to achieve operational excellence. Candidates should have a CPC National qualification and extensive experience in transport operations. The role demands strong analytical skills and the ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Named CPC holder on an Operator's Licence with CPC National qualification.
• Extensive experience in large-scale transport operations and strategic resource planning.
• Strong commercial and analytical mindset, confident using data to influence performance.
• Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing management teams.
• Confidence using transport systems such as TMS, Isotrak, and Tachomaster.
• Ability to work autonomously and remain effective in a fast‑paced, pressurised environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a 24‑hour transport operation, ensuring compliance, service levels, and health & safety standards are met.
• Strategically deploy tractor units, trailers, and up to 600 driver shifts per day during peak periods.
• Ensure daily parcel despatch and B2C collections meet business and customer requirements.
• Drive cost control, performance reporting, and continuous improvement through data‑led insight.
• Lead and develop Operations Managers, embedding high‑performance and fuel‑efficient driving behaviours.
• Own peak planning and resource strategy aligned to forecasted volumes and financial targets.
