Wood is looking for a HSE Improvement Lead to join our busy EMEA HSE team in Aberdeen, Scotland on a full time, permanent contract. Hybrid working is offered for this role - 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Closing date for applications is 12th December 2025 at 5pm GMT.

The Role :

Reporting to the VP of HSEQ, the HSE Improvements Lead will play a key role in driving a positive safety culture and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, security & environment. Working closely across the business, you’ll provide expert guidance, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement. You’ll have the autonomy to shape initiatives, engage teams, and influence meaningful change across a dynamic environment

This role will focus on enhancing our lessons learned process, risk management, and assurance activities, ensuring alignment and synergy across regions.

The role will involve collaborating with HSE Leads / Managers, providing guidance and support, and ensuring project compliance with HSSE regulations and company policies. The position will serve as a key point of contact for HSSE related matters and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of HSSE excellence.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant qualifications in HSE / Quality or related discipline.
  • HSEQ experience within the Oil & Gas or heavy industry.
  • Lead Auditor qualification by recognised industry body.
  • Training and assessment.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and assurance skills.
  • Formal Incident investigator training by a recognised industry body
  • In-depth knowledge of HSEQ regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence & engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations & recommend practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in a similar leadership role, demonstrating a track record of success in HSSE Improvement
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively inspire and motivate teams, providing guidance and support in achieving HSSE objectives.
  • Investigation experience, TAPROOT or ICAM.
  • Extensive auditing experience
