Job summary

A leading national contractor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to ensure high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. The ideal candidate will have strong HSE experience within construction and infrastructure, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach. The role offers a competitive salary of £52,000 with an additional £5,050 car allowance, alongside long-term growth opportunities in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong HSE experience within construction or infrastructure.
  • Ability to influence and support teams at all levels.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement and behavioural safety.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, compliance and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Full UK driving licence as site visits may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the HSE Management System.
  • Update systems in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Assist with HSE training and wider awareness programmes.
  • Support the behavioural based safety programme.
  • Carry out inspections and audits with project management teams and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with investigating and recording close calls, near misses and incident reports.
  • Help manage key HSE data and support accurate trend analysis.
  • Support Occupational Health and Wellbeing campaigns across the business.
  • Provide HSE input into tenders and pre qualification submissions.
  • Work collaboratively with management, clients, designers, JV partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
