Role

To deliver the site's Health, Safety & Environmental strategic vision in line with the Operational Strategic Pillars. To counsel, support, engage and encourage all levels of the teams to a proactive approach to Risk Management, whilst also challenging leaders in all HSE related aspects to ensure a Beyond Compliance performance in our pursuit of Zero Harm.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor safety programmes designed to improve behavioural safety.
  • Support Managers and Supervisors in accident investigations and near-miss root cause elimination, ensuring timely and thorough completion.
  • Support and conduct external audits and regulatory visits.
  • Work within the Advisor framework to ensure progression of site activities and compliance with legal requirements such as PUWER, Lifting Equipment, LOTO, DSEAR, First Aid, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety Regulations and report legislative requirements such as RIDDOR.
  • Complete all mandatory training.
  • Deliver the CGU HSE Strategy Plan and effective Toolbox Talks to inspire and inform.
  • Lead the HSE Ambassador Programme and the Communication and Training plan.
  • Coordinate site installation activities.
  • Advise on people elements (home working, young persons, new & expectant mothers, wellbeing, PPE).
  • Lead the ongoing safety improvements and risk management activities to support Zero Harm.
Person
  • GCSEs in Math & English at Grade C or Equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Occupational H&S desirable, but not essential
  • IOSH Managing Safety is essential for the role
  • Previous experience working in Health, Safety & Environmental topics desirable
  • Previous experience conducting risk assessments is essential
  • CSCS Black Card or CSCS White Card (AQP Academically Qualified Person)
