What You’ll Be Doing
  • Conducting risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities like hot works, heavy lifting, and confined space entry
  • Leading safety inductions, toolbox talks, and tailored training sessions
  • Investigating incidents and near misses, producing root cause analysis reports
  • Auditing contractors and inspecting shipyard environments for compliance
  • Monitoring environmental conditions and verifying equipment safety
  • Promoting a proactive “safety-first” culture across all levels of the workforce
Qualifications
  • Tech IOSH membership (or working towards)
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, confined space entry, lifting ops, hot works, and environmental risk management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse workforce
  • Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, oil & gas, or heavy engineering environments
  • Auditing experience with ISO 45001 or ISO 14001
  • Background in fabrication or manufacturing
Additional Information

Split between office and operational environments, with occasional travel and overnight stays. Flexibility is key—some days may extend beyond the regular schedule.
