A healthcare provider in Macclesfield is seeking a Decontamination Services Technician to ensure compliant decontamination processes. The role involves inspecting and disinfecting medical devices, conducting routine equipment checks, and adhering to strict quality standards. To perform all production related activities associated with the role of a Decontamination Services Technician in MDGH HSDU in compliance with all HSDU Operating Procedures.
HSDU provides a decontamination / sterilisation service to the Trust and operates a Quality Management System which is accredited as being compliant with EU Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, ISO13485:2016 and ISO9001:2008.
The post holder is required to support all job related activities which support this quality service and accreditation.
To perform all production related activities associated with effective provision of a compliant decontamination service to the Trust as described in the HSDU Operating Procedures.
To receive and inspect used medical devices (surgical instruments and equipment) from HSDU "customers" i.e. wards, clinics, theatres and other departments within the Trust.
To decontaminate and disinfect soiled medical devices in accordance with HSDU operating procedures.
To carry out daily routine checks on HSDU processing equipment and facilities as detailed in the appropriate HSDU operating procedure.
To pack, label and prepare for sterilisation medical devices and associated documentation following the HSDU operating procedures.
To receive and inspect medical devices (surgical instruments and equipment) from HSDU "customers" i.e. wards, clinics, theatres and other departments within the Trust.
