Are you a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact?

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our HR team. This role is responsible for delivering a wide range of HR services across the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on Recruitment, HR systems (HRIS), employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day HR processes, while supporting initiatives that contribute to a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.

Due to the operational nature of our organisation this is an on-site position.

Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition / In house recruiter
  • Overall accountability for recruitment activity for the business
  • Headhunting, sourcing and engaging passive candidates
  • Evaluating and refining sourcing, selection and interview processes adapting to type and level of role
HRIS Management
  • Maintain and update employee data in the HR Information System (HRIS)
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR records and data reporting
  • Generate regular HR metrics, dashboards, and ad hoc reports to support business decisions
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and line managers in using self-service HR tools
  • Act as the first point of contact for HRIS-related queries and troubleshooting
Employee Relations/Engagement
  • Foster a positive employee experience and help to promote a culture of open communication and fairness
  • Organise employee events and foster inclusivity
  • Contribute to HR projects such as employee engagement, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion programmes
HR Administration
  • Manage employee documentation including contracts, change letters, and right to work checks
  • Administer and track annual leave, sickness absence, and other types of leave
  • Support benefits administration and respond to employee queries related to payroll, healthcare, policies, and other entitlements
Compliance & Policy
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements
  • Assist with the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Support the preparation of documentation for audits and regulatory reporting
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
  • HR related degree or equivalent HR qualification
  • 5+ years of solid generalist HR experience, ideally in a similar HR Generalist role
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, headhunting and employer branding
  • Experience using and managing HRIS platforms (e.g., PeopleHR, SageHR, Sage People, Workday, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience supporting organisational change or HR transformation projects
  • Familiarity with HR data analysis and reporting
  • Previous experience in manufacturing/engineering organisations highly desirable but not essential.
