HR Consultant People Policy Governance | 9022 | Fixed Term Contract for Two Years 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | (Grade K) | County Hall, Norwich
We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Consultant to join the People Policy Governance team to lead on the development and implementation of HR policy, activity and projects in support of the People Management Strategy and legislative requirements. This is one of two HR Consultant vacancies in the People Policy Governance team, which are being advertised separately. The other role will work across all areas - including policy, as well as reward and recognition.
Role focus
This role will primarily be focused within the reward and recognition area/specialism, although will also be required to work across all areas of the People Policy Governance team.
Requirements
- Experience of accurately modelling and costing high level changes, along with an understanding of tax rules relating to pay and employment (including salary sacrifice schemes) and practical application of Excel at intermediate to expert level.
- You will develop, manage and implement project plans in accordance with NCC governance and best practice standards while proactively identifying improvements/recommendations.
- You will report to the HR Manager - People Policy Governance and will have a small team of HR Advisors and/or Officers.
- We are looking for a professionally qualified individual (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development level 5 or above) or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- You will need excellent communication skills, experience of policy development, project management, reward and recognition, and up to date employment law knowledge.
- You will also need a good understanding of the complexities and implications of different employment terms and conditions. The ability to work closely with HR colleagues and other key stakeholders is key, including the ability to lead discussions and consultations with relevant Trade Unions.
