Job summary

A growing technology firm in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced HR professional to assist with recruitment and manage HR processes. The role requires a confident communicator with a strong understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practices. You will be responsible for scheduling interviews, coordinating feedback, and ensuring compliance with Right to Work checks. Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 3.
  • HR experience or experience in a trusted position required.
  • Good working understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practice.
  • A confident communicator and listener on the phone and in person.
  • Can effectively build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

We leverage our team’s defence experience and technology expertise with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced maritime engineering. Our market ready platform, VICTA, is an optionally crewed / payload carrying dual-domain platform designed to operate at speed over range, capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery of effects within contested waters. It is a unique, innovative British platform focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.

Responsibilities will include
  • Assisting with the recruitment process and responding to applicants by email and phone. Helping to ensure that all queries are responded to or allocated to others for action.
  • Scheduling of interviews to include diary management of the relevant interviewers.
  • Coordinate interview feedback for second stage interviews.
  • Own and be responsible for associated HR processes, letter production and documentation covering the employee life cycle, including (but not limited to) starters, leavers, contract variations, reference checks, probationary reviews and leave management.
  • Ensure Right to Work, and Visa checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Approachable in nature, you will be confident, articulate and motivated and enjoy working collaboratively within a team.
  • Monitoring of probationary periods
  • Assist in monitoring and responding to general HR queries
  • Provide basic advice on policies and procedures to staff and managers.
  • Take minutes in grievance, disciplinary and associated HR meetings as and when required.
  • Good working understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practice
  • Interface with Payroll monthly to ensure minimal payroll issues.

Note

Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.
